Everyone who has ran into this problem can use the following method to fix their internal 8GB memory showing dismounted.
In Omnia, go to start - settings - connection - select usb connection - select Mass storage and set it to My Storage - press ok to save settings. Connect Device to PC and open Device manager. Click Start - Run - enter devmgmt.msc and click ok. This will open Device Manager, you need to look for removable storage and expand to view generic volume. Device Manager registers it however you won't be able to access any files saved in that memory bank because its corrupted. To fix it, you will have to format it. You can right click and choose format which will erase all data and remount the 8GB back to device. This is the only workaround for memory being dismounted.
Furthermore, when it comes to any plug and play storage devices, make sure you choose safely removed hardware prior to disconnecting the USB cable from PC or phone. This is the correct procedure to dismount drives from PC.
This is excellent fix for 8 GB showing up as dismounted.

ReplyDeleteHowever in my case, the device (in mass storage mode) cannot be accessed. I see it in the Device manager but it shows error and nothing can be done :(
ReplyDeletethere's another solution
ReplyDeleteyou can hard reset + format with 1 command
simply dial: *2767*3855#
WARNING: this will erase everything to factory settings, so, make sure you backup your important data
No way...
ReplyDeleteEvent afer new Rom, new Reset, original ROM, etc
It doesn't work!
...until I fond this:
1. Install "MoviPatch_Eng_100416.cab" at \ Temp
2. Restart the phone
3. Execute at \ Temp\MoviPatch the file "NormalPatchUpdate.exe"
It will reproduce an error, but...
tada My Storage is working!
Best regards,
DrYaris

ReplyDeleteThe NormalPatchUpdate.exe approach is made for Omnia i8000, has any one tried it on i900?
